During my recent city break at Blanco Riad in the enchanting Tetouan, I was delighted by its charming elegance and rich history nestled right in the heart of the ancient Medina-a UNESCO World Heritage Site, no less! The Riad maintains a beautiful old-world charm, featuring a lovely central courtyard where the soothing sound of the fountain creates a serene atmosphere, perfect for winding down with a good book. The staff, especially Said and Asma, were incredibly welcoming and made every effort to ensure our stay was memorable; Said even guided us through the Medina to a fantastic hammam experience! Our spacious family suite was a blend of authenticity and comfort, complete with premium bedding and a large bathroom stocked with complimentary toiletries. The dining experience was equally impressive, with the restaurant offering a menu filled with exquisite local dishes, from slow-roast goat kid to aubergine cannelloni, accompanied by a refreshing glass of wine or two on their gorgeous terrace. Although the historic building allows for some noise, it's a small price to pay for such a beautiful and conveniently located property. I would highly recommend Blanco Riad not just for its stellar accommodations, but for the intimate glimpse into Tetouan's rich history and culture it provides-the perfect base for both an adventurous and relaxing getaway!
